So it seems that we should get to know each other again. It's been awhile and I don't really like the same music or color schemes anymore and I just feel like you should know that. Plus, pinterest has been invented since our last chat, so it's a whole new world baby. So in tradition of yesteryear, let's throwback and do this old-school style with the bullet points.
- My name is still Rachel. Fascinating first point don't you think. I think this blogging stuff is going really well so far, don't you?
- I think Pinterest is just fantastic. Except that I have like 12782940 pins and have cooked/crafted/completed about 10 of them. Anyone else want to holla on that one?
- Yes I'm still kind of living the thug life. It's my secret identity.
- I just got that picture off of pinterest, so let's bump my pinterest successes up to 11, shall we?
- I now live in a land of tartan, and meat pies, and rain, and gorgeous landscapes and kind people and bagpipes. I absolutely love it here.
- I wear wellies at least 4 days a week here and I'm totally ok with that, because if you may recall, I really like rain.
- Ava Bird is now 7 and Jane Bug is 5. Time apparently is going in super speed these days.
- I still love the Gilmore Girls as much as I used to. Well, I think I love them more than I used to because they are just fantastic and I never get tired of them.
- I own approximately 15 blankets now and use all of them on a daily basis.
- I live in a flat on a very busy street surrounded by Uni students who are very noisy but very kind.
- But I will only live here for a few more weeks--we are moving to a new flat in our new section of the city that we hope to plant our church in
- Did I mention we are here in the land of tartan and meat pies to plant a church? Yes we are, and it's fun and scary and stretching and so hard and incredible every day.
- My husband is my very best friend and I am so proud of him and the man he has become and is becoming. He is looking more like Jesus every day and I love that.
- Since we live in the land of meat pies I'm afraid I've started cheating way more frequently on being a vegetarian. Did I mention I was a vegetarian for 2 years? Man, it's been so long. So I was a vegetarian for 2 years. Well, I still am one, except I eat meat several times a week. And I know that's bad, but bacon has come back into my life and I just really love it to bits.
- Scottish people are so charming. They say things like bits and bobs, and rubbish and trousers instead of pants. You should never say pants here. I've learned that lesson in the last 2 years since we last chatted.
- I still find parenting an adopted child to be the hardest thing I've ever done. It is hard every day. I think so much of why it's so hard is because every day my flesh rises up and every day I have to kill it. Again. My flesh is so ugly. Thankfully my Saviour is so big and so full of grace. I would surely have thrown in the towel by this point if it wasn't for His grace that He pours out on me all day long.
- The Psalms are still my favourite book of the Bible. I never tire of the prayers I find there.
- My phone auto-corrects everything to British English now, so I write things like Saviour and favourite now. My computer doesn't change words, but now the British spellings seem totally normal to me, so I find myself leaning that way.
- My favourite colour is still green, but I'm having a fling with aqua these days. And cream. Isn't cream so pretty and, well, creamy? And so much like ice cream.
- Ice cream is so good.
- But honestly I prefer frozen yogurt these days. Original Tart from Yogurtology with blueberries and mango and kiwi and strawberries and a few chocolate chips.
- But no yogurtology here so I just HAVE to eat ice cream instead. Such a shame.
- Baked goods in Scotland are WAY BETTER than baked goods in America. It's a truth universally acknowledged.
- However, there is a major lack of Mexican food up in here. I think that if a Chuys or even a Moes opened it would never rain again and everyone would walk around singing and dancing a la musical style.
- I have fallen in love with Indian food as of late. That stuff is goooooood.
- This has become one of my favourite songs. I have lots of favourite songs, but this is probably up in the top five:
- I now drive a manual car whose steering wheel is on the right side of the car. And I drive on the opposite side of the street. And I haven't hurt anyone and I think that's just wonderful news for everyone.
- Ok, that's all I've got tonight. Come back to visit soon ok? And let me know a few things about you....would really love to hear from you! Share 3 things I may not know about you. This could be fun, so play along ok?
